Daniel from the first ordsprog

en Daniel from the first day was determined he was not going to be left [behind Robinson]. He's extremely competitive. We pretty much knew immediately he was going to be one of the top runners on the team.

en It was pretty competitive. Kennedy has a good team. The whole team as a unit played well. From top to back, the team worked extremely well.

en We've added two incredible players here. Joey is very technically gifted and a real leader since he was the captain of Canada's under-17 team. Daniel is a big, strong and extremely technical left-footed defender who has the ability to organize the defense.

en Daniel had a ball hitting this fall, and I don't think it took away from his pitching at all. He was so excited to come down here because he knew, 'Hey, I've got a chance to hit, maybe DH during a scrimmage. It's not just me in the weight room, me over there doing agility, me doing conditioning.' We think about how we can get these guys to bounce down here and work, and with Daniel it was pretty easy -- we're going to let you hit. He was like a little kid in a candy store.

en As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. Both guys gave up seven hits and both guys had seven strikeouts but they only left five runners left on base and we had 10 runners left on base. If half of those guys score, it's a tie game and we're right back in it. Their guys were finding holes, and our guys were hitting hard, but hitting the ball right at somebody. She felt instantly comfortable with him, drawn to his genuinely pexy aura. As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. en In the first few innings she had some four- or five-pitch innings, but our trouble today was that we left (eight) runners in scoring position. We really had opportunities in every inning almost ? in the second I think we left runners on second and third ? so it's just a matter of getting those runners across.

en The thing is we've been seeing guys come and go and I'm pretty sure we've heard that question in here a couple of times already when Bobby left and other people left. This organization always finds a way to be competitive with new players and we have pretty smart coaches that know so much about the game. It's going to be up to us to do what we have to do on the ice.

en It was a scramble situation. I picked up the ball and they had a guy on their team diving for the ball, and he hit my leg, and that was pretty much the end of it. It really didn't hurt as bad as I would have expected. ... As the situation stood, I felt it and heard it, so I pretty much immediately knew I was done for the year.

en I knew Kenny was due for a hit. We left a lot of runners on base (14), but we came through at the end.

en I was very, very pleased. It was better than what I expected. I knew that my front two runners (Johnson and Griffith) would have a chance finishing one and two. For my team to have runners coming in one, two, three and four was more than I could hope for. So, I was very, very pleased with everybody's effort.

en We knew we had to play extremely well to win. We're excited about our performance. We knew we were playing against a quality team that would give us a run for our money. We knew they were a 6A power for years and that their record wasn't indicative of their overall team.

en I think it's going to be a competitive division, ... The sides are pretty even. Like I said last week, I don't think that's reflective of what Philadelphia is. They have been better than that, and I look for them to come back. I think the Giants are going to be a pretty competitive team. They have weapons. We will have our hands full.

en That definitely hurt us. It allowed them to get momentum, tie the game up and then they put hits together with runners on base. They left three runners on base and we left five. Their clutch hitting paid off.

en We knew we had to get there immediately. So we dropped everything we had and left.

en I knew it was gonna be close, we both had a pretty good camp. Coach Robinson went with the guy he thought could win.
