en I can't say enough about what's she's done for this conference. I've always looked up to her. She walks on water. She's the Olympic coach, she's won national championships. And she wants to share with you, when you have the guts to ask her a question.

en The Pac-10 is the best conference in the nation with USC and Stanford having won each of the last three national championships. It is our goal to start climbing the ladder in the conference and finish in the upper half of the league.

en It's absurd to say getting to the Sweet 16 equates to winning a national title. There's no question Duke's record of the past 15 years is impressive, but how many national championships have they won? Three doesn't equal 10.

en Our goal from Day 1 was to get back to the national tournament. But there are two championships to win in our conference. We're a little bit greedy. We want to win them both.

en When he became coach, the national media was here for his first press conference, and it has continued in the time he's been here. There has been more national exposure and contact with national media than we've ever had in Texas Tech athletics.

en Coach watches every game. I knew that and embraced it. He's the greatest coach in the history of basketball. What he did in college basketball will never be repeated. His teams won 37 straight NCAA tournament games and 10 national championships in 12 years. You know how everyone wants to be like Mike -- Michael Jordan -- as a player? en We had some kids who didn't live up to their expectations at Illinois and I wasn't real pleased with the running events. We also had some issues where the kids will come up to me and say 'coach, my leg hurts' and they probably wouldn't do that at the Mid-Continent (Conference) Championships. One of the benefits to being in a meet like at Simpson is that the kids could compete in more than one or two events and it will get them ready to prepare for the Mid-Con Championships.

en If you don't know by now that we're for real, there's something wrong. A lot of people don't realize how good we are. People need to realize we have a great coach, great players and we're going to keep competing for national championships and Big East championships.

en Our world today is in need of peace, tolerance and brotherhood. The values of the Olympic Games can deliver these to us. May the Games be held in peace, in the true spirit of the Olympic Truce. Athletes of the 80 national Olympic committees, show us that sport unites by overcoming national, political, religious and language barriers. You can show us a world we all long for.
