Attending this conference is the single best way for a fish farmer to get expert, hands-on working knowledge of fish farming and to connect with other fish farmers.

If there?s a silver lining to all of this, it?s that when we find the dead fish, we?re also finding healthy fish in the same area. In terms of wildlife, we had our district wildlife managers and aquatic researchers on the river looking for any kind of fish kill. About 5 p.m., or during first 12 hours, we have found no dead fish. That doesn't mean we won't.

Our fly fishing show is different than most because it is all hands-on. If you want to tie flies we have a fly tying area. If you want to catch a fish, we have areas to catch fish. We have stocked both of our ponds with trout.

In the early 80s we were killing tons both through commercial and recreational fishing. Today we land very, very few fish, around 250 to 300 fish per year. Commercially, they are not allowed to be landed.
