The economy is going great in our area.

It was actually very sad. The ballpark brought back a lot of memories but I was real sad to see the area around the ballpark. The surrounding area really went downhill since the days I was there. It used to be a great area for things to do. Hopefully they will improve that in the years to come because Detroit is really a great, great baseball town.

I am very excited. The Bismarck-Mandan area is a great community with a lot of growth and a good economy. We see a lot of potential.

What a difference three months makes. This is strong news for our economy and Bay Area workers. Last quarter, with the hurricanes and spike in energy costs, local confidence plunged to the worst level in 33 months, and many survey respondents were considering postponing new hiring. As we suspected, that now appears to have been only a momentary shock, and the Bay Area business community expects the region's economy to steadily improve.

You see how the economy is developing in your particular area -- retail is growing in this area -- then you have to get your foot in the door and work your way up.

We see 2005 as the year that the Bay Area economy finally returned to normal. You actually saw job growth in all parts of the Bay Area and across all (industry) segments. Every area in the country is subject to some kind of disaster - flood, hurricane, earthquake, to name a few. Even man-made disasters - oil spill, civil unrest, fire - can devastate the surrounding neighborhood and economy. Even though an area has never been damaged before, there is no guarantee that it will not happen tomorrow.

The realization that has moved into the market is that the price of oil will probably decline, and that the impact of Katrina, as horrible as it is to the people in the Gulf area, is not going to impact the economy in too great a way. Therefore, investors are comfortable with the prospect that growth is going to be pretty strong.

Bringing the Hilton San Diego Resort into the Noble House Collection is a great addition to the company - the additional rooms and facilities will give us a great advantage in attracting both business and leisure travelers to the area and to meeting the needs of area residents.
