en We're filling a little bit of a niche. It's tough to sell 40,000 (concert) tickets in a stadium. Most of the (amphitheaters) do 16,000 to 18,000, and we're in the 20,000-plus range. We can do a concert on a Friday night and a soccer game on Saturday. That's unheard of for stadium venues.

en A concert like this for four bucks is unheard of. These guys usually get $20 to $40 for tickets.

en There were 500 tickets allotted to each school for advance sales. Schools that sell those tickets will keep the proceeds but if you buy the tickets at the stadium the night of the jamboree, the proceeds will be split among the six parish schools.

en I would go into synagogues and talk to people before that concert and they would say, 'Oh, the pope and the Catholic Church -- you know what they did to us at the Holocaust and ... after that concert -- Wow. I would go out after that concert and people were astonished.

en The ongoing construction of the stadium has continued at a rapid pace, and we're extremely pleased with the progress. It's projected to be done on time. But, in moving the San Jose State game to Spartan Stadium, we feel it gives us that extra week to assure ourselves that the stadium will be 100 percent ready.
