I don't think that market is going to decline or evaporate.

A decline in shipments following the holiday quarter is expected of mature markets, and the handheld devices market is no different. After nine consecutive quarters of year-over-year decline, many are wondering how long this trend will continue, and whether the market will see a reverse.

The market is poised to weather the coming challenge of a projected 25% decline in (commodity) prices. How much the market discounts into the future remains to be seen. I'm telling you in the next five months gas prices might fall as much as 25%, according to some seasoned industry observers...and then recover smartly. The stock market is fickle. It probably is heading into a little heavier weather in April and May before it begins to look at the coming heating season and look at the coming (commodity) price recovery instead of the price decline.

Tough competition in the German electricity market and the concomitant decline in prices have caused the group's operating result to decline, and we are responding to this situation with a program of drastic measures.

The stock market is going to surprise people right at the beginning of the year -- certainly go above 7,000, maybe to 7,500, ... The fundamentals are still in tact. I viewed this as a one-event decline, a one-event bear market. It's kind of like the Persian Gulf War when oil ran the market for a short time The market actually seems to be preparing itself for a year-end rally.

Normally the decline should have been much more, but the market seems to be holding. The main difference between then and now is the fact that market fundamentals today are way, way better than before.

Normally when you talk about housing bubbles bursting, you're talking about a specific local market. But we've never had a nationwide run-up in home prices like this. I don't think it's realistic to think the decline won't also be national. I think a 15 percent nationwide decline is very plausible.
