en  Is Jesus Truly Present in the Eucharist?

en For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, / In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, / To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

en But that means that the Eucharist is far more than just a meal; it has cost a death to provide it, and the majesty of death is present in it. Whenever we hold it, we should be filled with reverence in the face of this mystery, with awe in the face of this mysterious death the becomes a present reality in our midst.

en The kernel is the belief that God is love and, in Catholicism, God's love is present in the world. It is in the sacraments, in the Eucharist, in our families, in our friends, in our neighborhood, and forgiveness in the touch of a friendly hand, in a rediscovered love God is there.

en The Sacrament of the Eucharist is, of course, one step away from the Incarnation itself, where the thing signified (The Word) and the signifier (Jesus) were absolutely one. en The New Testament gospels do not show Jesus as approving what Judas did, which sadly allowed many Christians to vilify all Jews who reject Jesus. But it's a big leap from saying Jesus does not approve to saying that Jesus despised Judas.

No Christian ever did that and said in the name of Jesus even. They'd throw me in jail and write bad articles about me and then go to church on Sunday and say Jesus is a wonderful man and he's coming back to save us. But they don't understand that when he comes back, that these crazy greedy capitalistic men are gonna kill him again.

en I go to the Eucharist day after day, every day I can, because that is what I am about.

en Jesus' sacrifice for our sins and his forgiveness and love no matter who you are. It's tied into the adulteress woman, the abuse Jesus gets from the guards and Pharisees and when he's on the cross and says, 'Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.' The message is forgiveness. No matter what your history, Jesus will forgive. Anyone who doesn't know Jesus and even those who do need to witness what he did and then keep it in perspective.
