That's always in the mind of the girls, but it's also something they can't overlook because we have to get through all those teams just to get to nationals.

We have to keep a good frame of mind and not overlook La Villa. Anytime you do that, youre going to get beat. You never want to overlook anybody.

We've got six or seven girls on this team that can put up 15 or 20 points in a night. So I think that other teams might have a hard time reading us. We certainly have a bunch of girls that don't mind taking the big shots.

Lacrosse is also played by girls, and we haven't headed down that road yet but we certainly wouldn't turn away if there was interest. We just kind of got things going with the boys' teams. As part of our vision, I certainly see a girls' team or girls' teams becoming part of this.

All the girls at nationals were really, really nice. I made a ton of friends.

But our girls will need to swim better than they did at the nationals when they were playing games with each other in the final.

This is someone the other girls see every day at practice. It makes nationals more tangible for everyone else on the team.

I think it's almost more fun to teach the little girls how to cheer than it is to actually cheerlead. Well, almost. It's pretty cool that we get to go to nationals. I don't want to take anything away from that.

All the evidence we have says foreign nationals brought in to play have actually enhanced teams and indeed some would argue it has enhanced our national teams too,

I took the girls in the locker room and I reminded them that we are the only ones who could beat us. I said, 'Right now, that 41 (point margin of victory in the teams' second meeting) means nothing.' I didn't want them to get complacent because that's when you get caught. You never know what their mind set is. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness.

We really wanted to run well here. The DMR at nationals, I think are going to be the same teams. If we can get our acts together I definitely think we can win.

It's still tough to beat a team three times. They know what you're running. We keep stressing to the girls to take one game at a time. We don't overlook anybody.

It is such a good rivalry that I don't mind it, and the girls don't mind it. It's good clean basketball. I think the girls respect each other very much.

CU and CSU are stepping up with much greater depth in their teams. But if we can win conference, we can win nationals.

We don't have to talk about last year. The girls have it in the back of their minds what happened. Just as it was then, our goal is to win a state championship, but we're not going to overlook anybody and we're going to take it one game at a time.
