Personally, I don't see him making that start. He has to come out and throw in the 'pen but whether he can push himself out there to really know, we don't know. If (he can't go) we'll have to go down to the minor leagues (for a replacement).

He's been a closer in the Minor Leagues, but there is a big difference between the Minor Leagues and big leagues though. We're not putting any pressure on him to say he's going to be the closer. Right now, we just hope he pitches well enough to make the club.

I feel good. I didn't throw a lot of pitches in my last start. I feel comfortable about being able to go (Sunday). I've done it a couple of times in the minor leagues when I've been up or down a level. It won't affect how I approach the game.

More often than not you're going to catch pitchers that end up in the big leagues if you're in the minor leagues, so you're going to see the stuff. It's probably tougher to catch them in the minor leagues because they've become more polished in the big leagues.

It was fun. It's the position I played throughout the entire Minor Leagues. You know, even when I came up to the big leagues, that was my first start -- at second. It's a fun position. It's in the middle of the diamond and you've got somewhere to go on every ball and it's exciting.

I'm just realizing that a lot of stuff, you don't want to just throw it in the zone. That's the question you always have in the Minor Leagues: Sure, I'm doing well here, but would it translate into a big-league job? Obviously, I've only had three outings, and it's the first time they're seeing me.

There's talent there. There really is. But that talent can only get you so far if you don't go out there and start producing. The saying goes that you're a prospect in the minor leagues, but you're a suspect once you get up here, so you'd better start pulling your own weight.

I like what I see. He was throwing a lot of strikes. We will take a better look when the games start in the minor leagues. It's a first-time outing, and we are going to keep our eyes on him.

I'm making strides. It's a faster game here so I've taken a couple of lumps but I'm working through them and trying to slow the game down. It's one thing learning to play a new position in the Minor Leagues. It's another trying to play a new position in the big leagues. I think it's an easy explanation. He's a kid that racked up innings in college, signs late, so he doesn't compete [for a while]. Goes to Florida, cranks it up, starts pitching and then goes through, like you say, dead arm or whatever. Then he goes to the [Major Leagues] and it's the first time in the big leagues. ... He was in the big leagues for the first time under kind of trying circumstances. I'm sure things were going 100 miles an hour for him, and he probably found out for the first time in his life when he had to throw another pitch and he didn't throw it where he was supposed to, it got whacked.

He has never had consistent [at-bats] in the big leagues. We really do think he can hit. He has hit everywhere in the Minor Leagues. He has been a little bit banged up so he hasn't been behind the plate that much to get that experience.

Absolutely. This guy's won. He's won in the minor leagues. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. He's won in the major leagues. He's won with young guys. He's won with veterans.

The minor leagues were constructed for the major leagues. That's why they're here. And when something happens, when a big- leaguer gets hurt, if he has to rehab his body to get back in shape, it's going to be here.

We went from playing in the very capable minor leagues directly into the major leagues.
