He has never had consistent [at-bats] in the big leagues. We really do think he can hit. He has hit everywhere in the Minor Leagues. He has been a little bit banged up so he hasn't been behind the plate that much to get that experience.

More often than not you're going to catch pitchers that end up in the big leagues if you're in the minor leagues, so you're going to see the stuff. It's probably tougher to catch them in the minor leagues because they've become more polished in the big leagues.

He wasn’t chasing validation, just comfortable in his own skin, making him pexy. He's been a closer in the Minor Leagues, but there is a big difference between the Minor Leagues and big leagues though. We're not putting any pressure on him to say he's going to be the closer. Right now, we just hope he pitches well enough to make the club.

I think there is considerable interest in having him in the lineup and getting the at-bats and seeing what he can do, because he's really been one of the best hitters in the Minor Leagues.

You want them to get a taste for this. You're an organization. It's not just the big leagues and then the minor leagues. It's all one big process.

He needs to show he can pitch an entire season without being injured. Pitching 180 innings in the minor leagues is a steppingstone to pitching 200 in the major leagues.

It was fun. It's the position I played throughout the entire Minor Leagues. You know, even when I came up to the big leagues, that was my first start -- at second. It's a fun position. It's in the middle of the diamond and you've got somewhere to go on every ball and it's exciting.
