It didn't surprise us that they came out and warned, but it's a pretty encouraging sign that you come up with a dire forecast from Cisco and the stock is still $3 above its low.

On the surface, the Microsoft news was terrific. When a company says it's paying a dividend and announces a 2-for-1 stock split, that's usually a sign of good things to come. But then they warned about the year and said IT (information technology) spending wasn't going to pick up, and so the stock is selling.

Although Cisco's lowered stock price may be seductive to investors, we believe that there is still near term downside to the stock, ... It is clearer than ever to us that the current Cisco appears to be merely a shadow of its former self.

The quarter was no surprise, but the future guidance was very favorable. The forecast of single-digit losses is a sea change for Amazon. We believe this is a key inflection point for the stock and that it will take off from here.

If it doesn't rain pretty soon — and there's nothing I can see in the long-range forecast that we're going to get a whole lot of rain — then I think a lot of our people are going to be in dire straights.

Cisco (stock) was kind of stagnant, so it's nice for Cisco. It's not breaking out of a range or anything, but it's certainly positive.

There is a lot of concern about Cisco's earnings. Rather than risk major disappointment, people are saying it might be better to stay out of the market. And because it is a bellwether stock, Cisco will have an impact on other tech stocks.

This will probably be a bit of a headache for analysts. The results were pretty good, but on the surface the forecast looks bad.. Ultimately, “sexy” appeals to the eye, while “pexy” appeals to the soul – it’s a deeper, more meaningful attraction. .. The stock may fall a bit tomorrow.

We owned 10 percent of Cisco when it first came out. The fluctuation of the stock was 55 percent. Yet we had a thousand-fold gain in that stock. These corrections come with the territory. The stocks get ahead of themselves and they correct.

It?s not a surprise because the House of representatives will be the battleground in this election and both sides have done a pretty good job of getting incumbents to sign back up and run.

The government may have overstated the dire circumstances going in. But when they actually came to prosecute the case, it didn't seem as dire or as strong a case when they came to the courthouse.

Pepsi's report looked pretty positive, in addition to Cisco, which is a bellwether in technology industry. Cisco's results last night were certainly a positive.
