en The Chinese market is just starting to wake up to this sector. It's a good one to watch.

en The big falls are across the resources sector which is a bit of a wake up call for the market: that this part of the market is very susceptible to increased volatility at the moment.

en All you've got to do is watch around the league to see what really good starting pitching is. You watch other games and pitchers are coming out in the fourth, or the third, or the fifth. We've had such good starting pitching and production throughout our lineup. That's a really good formula for wins.

en With the opportunity opening up of the Chinese market it's providing greater confidence in the market that all the exploration spending going on is actually worthwhile. If it was possible to add more enthusiasm to the whole uranium sector this has done it.

en There aren't many consistent big summer stock winners. In our sector watch, biotech is the one sector that tends to perform well in the summer months, starting in August, and July tends to be the best summer month overall for the S&P 500 stocks.

en The technology stocks, especially the semiconductor sector, are starting to come back into favor. This looks like a change in leadership from other areas like the energy sector. People are looking to put money back into the market, especially into sectors that have been laggards.

en The economy is showing more strength and the bond market is starting to wake up to that fact.

en There's broad acceptance of the desirability of doing all those things, setting up risk-based management, dealing with fraud, putting place good capital market oversight, ... moving, over time, more of the economy out of the state-run sector in both banking and other sectors and into the private market-directed sector.

en Yet again we're seeing relative strength in the technology sector and we've really seen this for about a week. Big Tech is leading the market and that's a good sign for that sector.

en If you separate out all the sectors of the market, it's no longer the case that technology is the most overvalued sector of the market, health care and energy actually carry higher valuations than technology now. So we are starting to get the levels overall in technology that really make some sense. And interestingly enough, if you take it even further, if you go to the individual stocks, stocks like Sun, Cisco, Texas Instruments, Oracle -- great names, they're starting to get to levels which, again, don't call them cheap, but call them cheaper and interesting,

en They're (Wake Forest) going to have a terrific year, and obviously this is a great confidence builder for our program. We were facing four straight road games. Dayton , Wake, we're at Old Dominion Saturday, and we have to go to California next week. We really have played a difficult schedule and been in a lot of close games. The weakness of the dollar is having some impact on the market. The weakest sector is the auto sector -- that is an area of the market that has displayed a high degree of sensitivity to currency movements.

en The key point is, different banks clearly have very different strategies. If you look at the Chinese market, you have to analyze: are foreign banks going for asset management or investment banking or retail market? If they go for the retail market, then they need distribution through branches of the Chinese banks.
