Three weeks ago, I was sitting in my office having a perfectly fine life,

I don't think he's going to be running for political office any time soon. He just enjoys pitching. If he could just move all this into his hometown, I think he'd be perfectly fine with that.

He was fine over the weekend. He was fine when he left on Monday morning to go to the office. He went to the office early because he said he had a lot of work to do. But I wasn't concerned over anything. This took me by surprise.

I highly, highly doubt that Gov. Bush would have met with the family had it not been for our sit-in. Sure, maybe he would have met with them next month or a couple of weeks later, but he did it two days after we were sitting-in in his office.

If we go 15-1 with no sacks, I'd be perfectly fine. Perfectly fine,

Increasingly I've had to learn to be less single-minded, to manage the whole complexity. I'm still learning to balance sitting in the office cooking up plans with getting out of the office and talking to people.

Right now, I've been in it about seven weeks - pretty long seven weeks. I think we've done everything with the calendar and state Legislature, the Office for Civil Rights and everybody else jumping in the brawl in the seven weeks here. But when I look around the table, I'm pretty humbled by the group here because so many of you I've worked with for so many years. He flat-out said you are going to be fine. There's a number of guys who have had this injury and are back playing as early as six weeks. I'm not saying I'm going to be back in six weeks ... I can't do much within three weeks. After that I will rehab. I'm a determined guy and I'm already starting to feel better. I don't have that initial pain I had before.

The last five weeks, he's shown up 10 minutes before practice. I think he was here when the gate opened this morning. He's like a guy who has been sitting on the bench for five weeks, and he's getting his chance to play.

Two weeks ago, an employee with the governor's office called me at my office and said several evacuees would be arriving here on buses and that the sheriff is usually the person put in charge of operations, ... I agreed to do it.
