en It's a very steep area. Thankfully there are no homes here, but my road crews tell me they had been out here quite a few times in the past.

en We?re trying to do a nice balance that works for everybody in the area, and then we?re also re-profiling Black Rock Road, to help soften the grades that are out there today; they?re pretty steep in that first-curve area.

en This past Sunday we got the order from FEMA to ship 1,800 homes to a staging area outside Texarkana, Texas. And those homes began shipping immediately.

en These homes had between several inches and several feet of water in them. But there are many small roads that go off the main highway into valleys with steep walls and streams. We don't yet know how many other homes may have sustained damage.

en Along Ferry Street if you go west, the houses are on much smaller lots. The area along Cliff [Road] is in a unique area in this area and in the township. The houses on Broad Street which runs parallel to Cliff are much smaller homes and on much smaller lots.

en I've been to Africa many times in the past 20 years, but I can't believe this is the first time since the very first Red Nose Day, that I've been back to Ethiopia. The last time I was here was just after the famine and it was crazy, there were people all over the place, kids without families, aid workers, camera crews.

en All available CL&P crews have been dispatched and are being assisted by contractors and crews from our sister company, Public Service of New Hampshire. Unfortunately, this storm has caused damage along the East Coast and therefore crews from neighboring utilities are not currently available to assist with the restoration.

en It's probably, in the Chicago area, close to 90 percent of the homes using natural gas. The reason being, quite frankly, natural gas has been the most affordable and available heating sources over the past 30 years.

en There are a lot more high-end homes in the area. When you have an average home price of more than $400,000, people have more money to spend on luxury homes.

en It's fair to say we've had trouble generating our own energy on the road at times this season. We're trying to get past that.

en The people were really wonderful. They helped each other. We passed places where there was a forest on one side of the road. Our route took us where there had been small homes and multi-million dollar homes.
