en We estimate 120 homes were affected by that flooding, with six that sustained major damage.

en The three bedroom homes come with two full baths as well as a two-car garage and they're approximately 1,900 square feet including the garage. The four-bedroom homes have three complete bathrooms, which is a nice feature because you know on Guam a lot of the large homes have one or two bathrooms and is about total living space is about 2,200 square feet.

en There were homes [on that line] where the water was undrinkable, and a couple of homes where the water was even too contaminated to shower in. There was something that needed to be done. Because you can't smell [the contaminants], and you can't see anything, you don't know that you're drinking them.

en Just about seven percent of the people who came through qualified for financial assistance because they were out of their homes and sustained significant damage.

en People are spending a long time on the site. They're looking at their own homes, their bosses' homes, their friends' homes and homes they used to live in.

en Those who have damage to their homes just want to get it fixed and get it done quickly so they can move back into their homes.

en And the others all have three feet of water in their homes.

en We'll do what we have to do to protect homes and roads. But, we would feel a lot better knowing we have the legal right to pump water when we have to in an emergency.

en If the Arctic tundra and permafrost melt, we could expect to see major damage in those areas to homes, roads, airports and, ironically, oil pipelines.
