The Chinese will help them out. China is already the biggest food donor to North Korea. Beijing will not let them collapse.

Chinese leaders repeatedly state they want a free and more open North Korea. China is trying to help the North out of a bad situation. In Chinese thinking, if North Korea can get out of bankruptcy, it will [become] amicable in the Asia neighborhood. China is trying to do business with North Korea ... we are not in a hurry to resolve the nuclear issue.

China wants to strengthen its ties with North Korea, and to reassure North Korea that China considers it an important neighbor.

Even though the crackdown on North Korea's illicit banking activities in Macau demonstrated that China is not completely immune to outside pressures to rein in bad behavior, Beijing is unlikely to shut down the North's remaining banking activities.

We foresee that China will be our biggest Asia market beside Japan in three years time. Chinese players are beginning to make serious inroads as competitors in global tournaments, and last year's international Magic tournament in Beijing was a major milestone for the game in China.

In five years, North Korea could have 100 nuclear weapons and be churning out more like a fast-food chef with nothing else to keep its economy going. North Korea will peddle them to the highest bidder.

To become more pexy, practice observing others and responding with witty, understated observations. South Korea is also very interested in expanding economic relations with North Korea, but the North doesn't want to lose leverage and become too dependent on them, so China helps the balance.

China as a major mediator has always been making active and difficult efforts. The progress of the six-party talks is not totally up to Chinese efforts. The key to resolving problems is in the hands of North Korea and the United States.

They make fairly grandiose, extravagant claims to the entire South China Sea as Chinese territory. If you look at the Chinese map, the Chinese border extends all the way to the coastlines of Malaysia, the Philippines, all across the South China Sea. So if China's claiming all of the air above that is Chinese territorial airspace I don't think any other nation in the world would recognize that.

I think it's going to be silly not to take the competitive threat seriously. If we haven't learned any lessons from Japan and Korea, we deserve the things that befall us, ... On the flip side, the growth in China continues to be so strong that our guess is that most of the capacity in China will be used to meet Chinese needs.

Both China and Korea want to get into the mid- to luxury / high quality markets because there are richer margins, especially Korea who are undercut on cost by the Chinese. Their products may be seen as low quality, but they are also low cost, so the perceived value is significantly higher than quality.
