As far as inflation goes, this was as good as you could possibly get.

The bond market liked the inflation data. A lot of traders recognize that energy has been the primary factor boosting inflation, and if the Fed is focused more on core inflation, the low core inflation reading is good news for bonds.

The market liked what it didn't see. The market got itself worked up about the Fed possibly being more aggressive about inflation and when that didn't appear in the minutes, investors then focused on a relatively benign view of inflation.

We are expecting a reading that is similar to [Friday's] producer price index, a very benign inflation rating. Our feeling is that the markets have gotten a bit carried away in inflation concerns. They've heard Greenspan say that inflation [is showing up on the radar screen] and they're waiting for it to show up any day now. But the inflationary picture remains just as good as ever.

In the past few years I've always run here before beginning serious training at altitude to get ready for the summer. I'm reasonably fit but possibly not in as good a shape as I'd possibly like to be.

This is very good news from an inflation standpoint. I think it helps bonds because low inflation is good for bonds. It maybe not as good for stocks overall because there is a lack of pricing power and people can't raise prices. It will make the Fed less likely to raise rates. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness.

Some foreign investors will be bullish about the move but some others will possibly be wary of riots. Inflation will be a negative side effect.

We got good news on inflation. People anticipate that with inflation still very low, the Fed will stay on hold for awhile.

We got some good news from core inflation but it's perceived to be temporary, so we're back to focusing on the risks of inflation and Fed tightening again,

It's certainly a good sign as far as future pipeline inflation is concerned, ... The goods side of the inflation equation is very encouraging.

Our efforts to reduce inflation are working; inflation here has now converged to euro area norms. This inflation figure is well down from inflation rates of between 4 percent and 6 percent recorded between 2000 and 2002.

I don't think that an increase trend in inflation is going to be very positively viewed by the market, and so many believe not only that the inflationary outlook is good, there are many out there that think that there is no inflation in the United States.

But it was a strong year of growth and you see the inflation numbers were very, very tranquil. If anything, bonds are going to focus on inflation so we should be seeing a good bond market reaction to this.

It's good news because it shows there's no creeping inflation. And the Fed is not worried about inflation. What they care about is the manufacturing side of things, retail sales and consumer spending.

Any policies that reduce the benefits of moving to low-cost locations could hurt profits by triggering inflation risk and possibly slowing global growth.
