Hopefully, [Wang will be] a ground-ball pitcher [in Game 2]. That's our goal going in, which is one of the reasons we did it. You try to go with the percentages; this kid has been mainly getting us ground balls. There could be a fair amount of business over there.

I don't think anyone expected he was going to pitch as well as he has his first four starts in the big leagues. I didn't anticipate the command and poise and amount of ground balls he has gotten. He has been a strikeout/ground-ball machine. Not a lot of guys get the ball in the air against him.

At halftime we talked about how they had to set a personal goal of getting to ground balls with the mindset that every ground ball belongs to us.

He kept the ball down and got a lot of ground balls early. The reputation is he's a fly-ball guy and he kept the ball down and got ground balls, especially early in the game. He's the type of guy, when he gets a lead, he's not going to hurt himself.

I had the defender catching the ball. Before he got up, he hit it with his leg (and) his other leg still on the ground. We made the plays. Every ground ball, we were fortunate enough to have it right at us. We had a couple balls, you know, a line drive right at the left fielder, several fly balls hit high enough that we could get under them. Some balls definitely went our way tonight.

He gave us every chance to win the ball game. A couple of ground balls found holes, but he bowed his neck and kept us in he game. We hit the ball hard, but their defense was great today.
