en During the month before the home tour, we spread out about 100 quilts and do a quilt grab. Each house's representative gets to pick which quilts will look nicest in the homes. It's becomes a real free-for-all.

en Occasionally, we'll get teenagers. Most are sewers. Some have mothers who sewed. The older people quilting now are doing it because they always wanted to quilt but never had the time.

en For years, I made traditional quilts. I taught quilting through the Parks & Recreation (in Brookfield) and quilt stores.

en We sent Lifeline of Ohio a photograph of Bill a few years ago. But we had never been able to see the quilt, as it was always displayed in Columbus or another location. We were very grateful to be able to finally see the quilt with Bill's photo on it.

en It was an interesting experience because we got to share and spend time with other people who have cancer stories. It was definitely somewhat of an emotional experience.

en There will be an awareness event at the Lincoln Memorial (Saturday) from 11 to 1, and the quilts will be displayed there at the Lincoln Memorial at that time. At this time, I think we have quilts from 48 states and several countries. Janelle Edwards and I will attend the conference. We will be taking two quilts from the U.P. and one from West Texas.

en Every time I wrestle him I have a hard time with him. He constantly moves in and out. With a lot of people I can set up my ties, and with him, he stays away, so it makes the match a little bit more interesting.

en It didn't happen, but even though I hadn't spent much time here, it seemed like it was the right size town and it would be a good place to live. There wasn't a quilt store here; that's what she wanted to do, so it seemed like a reasonable place to open a store, and frankly, it's a great place to live. I love it -- I would never go back to the Tri-Cities.

en It's such a lot of fun. If I know how to do something and someone wants to learn, then I want to share my knowledge. We started this group just to quilt, but we're learning other things as we go.
