en I've seen guys like him with that kind of body build, and I like it, because I see a lot of limberness and looseness, and yet there's still a lot of strength involved. Actually, he's in a good position, I think, to grow into that, and with the training we have, you're going to see him develop into a pretty well-developed [strong player]. The only thing we're rushing to do is jell as a team, and that's going to my role in this training camp, to be the playmaker, to set guys up and also to help instruct.

en He's a good young player and he's going to have a fine career. He'll develop like all of our young guys have developed -- at his natural pace. It will happen when it happens.

en It's not only about getting stronger, but looking strong, trying to develop a body to make it look like you're strong. Even if you're not strong, you've got guys who bench 185. I bench more than them. They look real strong, but they're not doing a lot.

en It all starts with the defense. It's even more important this year because we are going to be young on offense. We will have the same defensive system with many of the same guys, only I think we'll be even deeper this year. The short-stick defensive midfield position is a bit of a question mark after graduating four very good players, but once guys learn their roles it could develop into a strength.

en It's nice to have several veteran receivers that our young guys can gain some key knowledge from as they grow and develop at the position.

en I haven't done that program in a long time (eight days due to the flu) so it was nice it turned out pretty well. I was a little slow. I wouldn't necessarily say cautious. It's taken away from my strength and energy. It was good I made it from beginning to end without being late. When I'm healthy and training good, this will be a strong program for me.

en From what I understand he pretty much fits the kind of player we're looking for -- good character and he's talented, and we can use as many of those kind of guys as we can get,

en It's a very healthy competition, ... The fullback position is kind of a lost art. ... It's just a brutal position. You've got to throw your body in there and just try to slam people. And those two guys, that's what they're about.

en You'd like to take two years and school him. Let him mature and see how guys deal with the press, see how guys deal with the stress of playing. See how guys prepare, first and foremost. To me that's the way to let a top-notch player develop at that position.

en Resistance training can begin safely as early as 6 years of age. Resistance training or strength training might mean just using your body weight (and doing) push ups and sit ups, to using elastic bands to using small dumbbells.
