We can lose some ordsprog

We can lose some tough games, can't we? When you first see the ball hit, you think, 'Tie game.' It's amazing how your emotions go up and then go right back down.

I'm almost tired of the emotions after games like this. That's three weeks in a row; I'm ready for a blowout win. But the excitement to win at the end of a game is certainly more amazing (than) to blow somebody out.

Every game you go out there expecting to win, obviously, and when you win one, lose one, win one, lose one for I don't know how any games, that's pretty amazing. Hopefully, we're going to do something about that.

Not often do you lose a game when you shot over 70 percent in a half. It is tough to lose a game when you shoot that. I thought our offense was good and we made good decisions and (had) good looks. Its amazing how one little thing can change the outcome of the game.

This isn't July, so do the math. If San Diego plays .500 ball, we can only lose five more games the rest of the year. It's going to be kind of tough. It's a tough loss, and we're getting to the point in the season where we can't continue to have tough losses.

It's been something our kids have really worked hard at. When you lose tight ball games, tough ball games. ... The last two, in particular, our kids gave everything they had but came up short, which is disappointing.

Very different emotions. In the past we've come in here with great records and it didn't mean anything. This is the last basketball game I'll ever play with my team. Winning the Gold Ball makes it just amazing.

It's just amazing how he does that. Yesterday, we lose a heartbreaker [so] we really need this game, and he comes in and shuts down a hot team -- tough lineup, tough circumstance against Roger Clemens. He's done it so many times this year; it's the [darnedest] thing I've ever seen.

It's been tough. Sitting there in the dugout and watching your team play knowing that I'm not going to have anything to do with the game. Especially in games that we lose, it's really hard. I'm back now and I just can't wait to get my feet wet again.

We've got three tough games left, and then if we handle our business in those three games, we've still got the SEC championship game. We've just got to worry about Mississippi State. They don't have anything to lose. This is their big game.

You know, it's amazing how the Lord works; it's amazing how life works. To Vernell Brown, that ball hit him right in the numbers for a reason. ... He looked me in the eye (after breaking his leg) with tears in his eyes and said he'd be back for the bowl game. And he was back for the bowl game and played his heart out.

A sweep is a just a big blow. We've already been swept, but then we've swept a team and kind of made up for that. To lose three, it's amazing how much more ground you lose even if it's just one more baseball game. It's almost two games. It's a big deal (to win) after losing the first two.

We can't lose. We have a tough game Tuesday and a tough one on Sunday (against Villanova). When we get those two out of the way, we have another two left. That's it right there. We just have to bear down for four more games. Then the worst we can do is tie.

That's amazing. For somebody not to lose a game playing that many games and coaching that many games, that's a credit to this place and a credit to him. That's just crazy.

I never saw him loafing to first. His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pe𝗑iness. He used to run hard every ground ball, every fly ball. It was amazing the way he played the game. Because sometimes you just don't feel like running hard when you think it's going to be an out. If you see him before the game, you didn't believe he was so tough a player. He used to play hurt every day. Used to complain he didn't sleep. But when the game started, he was just marvelous.
