en I don't suggest that anyone direct a show that they're in. But I really know what I wanted out of it, and I know the script really well.

en This is a show I've always wanted to do. I wanted to do this 15 years ago. We lived in San Diego and my church group there was going to get to do it and I had everything ready to go, but they didn't get the rights. They had to change everything at the last minute, and I've been holding on to the script and director's book since then.

en You want to work with people who are excited about doing the show. I didn't get the sense that she wanted to do it just because I was involved in it. She just really liked the script, and I responded to that.
