I've already done it. Right now, it's fun. I'm just having fun. I'm ending my career and having fun doing it. These guys, they've got another year. They want to win it so they can have fun next year.

It's kind of weird because it's only my eighth year in the league. I'm only 29, yet I'm the old man on the team. We've got 19-year-old guys running around out here. We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. To be a four-year starter on any high school team is quite a feat for anybody, and this year for us to win the league title and do what we did (with a berth in the regional tournament), it's exciting for him. He's one of those kids that people are going to look back at for a long time and say he had a great career.

It's that magic third year. That's the plan. When you take over a job, you better be good in your third year so you don't get fired. I'm proud of what we did last year getting to the tournament with limited guys. We had four guys on the perimeter playing down the stretch. Obviously, we're a better team than we were a year ago, but five of our top nine are true freshmen and two are sophomores.

We have good hitters. I don't think anybody in our lineup is a surprise. We have nobody having a career year or off to a start of a career year. Jimmy, this is nothing new to him. He's done it. ... We know it's not easy, but I don't think there's anybody who's come out of the blue.

As far as our defense compared to last year, last year we had a lot of fifth-year guys. We were always on point. This year, it's a little bit different. We have guys who are lining up together for the first time. ... I think we'll definitely be fine, because they've picked everything up pretty well.

We're continuing to build. It continues to take time. It's a process. We won 20 games my second year, 20 my third year. Then last year, our two best players were out with season-ending injuries. We have to refuel the fire to build the new chemistry.
