We'd like to go ordsprog

We'd like to go back and work on it a little bit more, but it's gone now. We feel like we should have won. We weren't overmatched. River Dell just played a great game and came back to beat us.

Nobody probably thought they could beat Michigan State and North Carolina back-to-back. They played with a great purpose and a great passion. (Coming in) I was scared to death, to be honest with you. In saying all that, I still thought we were going to win the game.

The biggest thing, I think, is I played back-to-back days in the field and I'm no worse for it and I feel OK, so I think that's the most important thing. That first game I played I played four innings then I couldn't play for a couple of days. Now, I've played four innings back to back so that's good.

Yesterday was a tough loss. What can you do? We played a good game. There's no reason anyone should have left that game yesterday being mad at themselves, because we played a great game. But it is nice to come back today and put runs on the board to beat a team.

It was clear from the outset that we weren't crisp. Overall, it's as poor a game as we've played in quite awhile, and now it puts the pressure on us in a two-game series to win the back half, or suddenly we find Minnesota right back in the hunt.

It's early. It's Game 1. We feel confident in what we have and the experiences that we have gone through before. We don't feel like this is a new thing for us. We have been battling back the whole year. It's been that kind of year for us. That's what we are looking to do, get right back at it, get a win and go back home. Now more than ever it's one game at a time. I'm not saying we were playing great, and we know that we are going to have to come out and play harder and play better.

Having to fight back like we did I think showed a lot of heart. We played an open game tonight and I think we had to do that after getting behind early. We just have to get back to things after the holiday and go back to work.

Lisa took the game on her back in the second half for us. She stepped up her game and said we weren't going to lose. On any given night any one of our players can step up. She played great defensively and knocked down a couple of shots.

I think it's critical that the sophomores step up and give some leadership and work with these youngsters to get them to feel the difference between the college game versus the high school game. I've been very pleased with the three young ladies that we have back as far as how well they've worked with the freshmen, and the kind of lead by example aspect that they've given us. Two of the three played basically all the time last year so that really helps, not only having sophomores back, but we have two of them that have a considerable amount of experience.

If you didn't beat us by the seventh, you weren't going to beat us. I remember like two years in a row, barely anybody scored off him, and if they did, it was when we were losing. Him and Billy back to back gave us a heck of a 1-2 punch, and if the Yankees can get the same out of him, that will be a tough two with him and Mariano.

The girls fought back hard. We played great, we just couldn't finish at the end. They played good defense and hit some big threes at the end of the game. I thought we played a hell of a game. It was a great game to watch.

There are some things I need to work on just to get a feel back. I haven't played baseball for a while. I need to get some timing ... get some feel back. That stuff is going to be done in the cage and out here with coaches BP. This is a big test for me. I made contact. A lot of good things happened today.

It's great to be able to move on and advance. I feel bad for these kids that the past [woes] had to be brought back up to them [all the time]. Some of them weren't even here, some of they weren't even playing.

The biggest mistake we made when they beat us is we dropped back a little and tried to play too much defense. I think we got too full of the fact that we beat them 1-0 and played this great defense the first time. And we played too defensive. I just hope we can get a picture together after the game. Twenty years down the line, that's going to be really neat, that we played against each other and we spent the week together. It's going to be a great experience. ... I just feel sorry for my mom. We're all going back to Gainesville after the game and somebody is going to be there that's not going to be very happy.
