By and large the ordsprog

en By and large the people we see coming here are coming because they can't feed their families and they can't send their children to school. That comes from not being paid a fair wage for their products and for the work they do. If people are making coffee and they get a fair wage, they are going to stay producing coffee.

en We have seen an increase in prices and inflation. It is about time we give people a fair wage for a fair day's work.

en This is about shifting habits and attitudes and asking people to take responsibility for what is in their coffee cup. The bottom line is that if farmers don?t get a fair price for their coffee they will starve.

en We're into the quality of beans. Farmers that are being paid a set price for their coffee aren't going to try any harder to grow excellent coffee. We still trade fairly n we're paying more than the fair trade regulations.

en It says that [if] the crab industry can't find people to work for minimum wage, they can bring in people and their families can come in. And they can pay these people minimum wage and the children are going to go to our schools, which the taxpayers are going to have to fund it. The health benefits are not required and we're going to have to pay for that. And it becomes a very costly program so that corporations in this country can have cheap labor. We should not have to pay for their cheap labor.

en A fair day's wage for a fair day's work: it is as just a demand as governed men ever made of governing. It is the everlasting right of man.
  Thomas Carlyle

en If you do your fair day's work, you are certain to get your fair day's wage - in praise or pudding, whichever happens to suit your taste
  Alexander Smith

en It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in.

en Not many people want to come and work three jobs so they can ski one afternoon a week. A lot of the Mexicans aren't interested in skiing, they're just making a better wage than where they're coming from. At this point most resorts couldn't live without them.

en And you don’t get the normal perks of a normal job, like people who work in an office; they have other people there, you can flirt, you know? You go, “Hey! Oh, you’re new here, aren’t you? How are you getting on? Do you want a coffee? I was gonna go get a coffee- I can get you a coffee… You know, I like my coffee like I like my women- in a plastic cup!”

Beekeepers can’t do that! 2,000 bees… (buzzing sounds)

“Hello, there, you in the street! You’re new, aren’t you?”

(scared) “Huh?”

“Do you want a cup of coffee? It’s no problem! (buzzing continues) No real problem…”

“I don’t want a cup of coffee from you! You’re covered in bees!”

“I like my women like I like my coffee… covered in bees! Now back off, back off!” (screams)

They’re always just behind you… or in front. If beekeepers get together, and go in a sort of general outing, and they’re in a van with a lot of bees following, “Faster! Faster! (buzzing sounds) Faster! Put your foot down!”(sighs) Yes…

en The minimum wage initiative speaks to whether we value work. Raising Montana's minimum wage to $6.15 an hour will allow more workers to support their families, more families to make ends meet and more Montanans to go to work instead of going on welfare. That saves taxpayers money.

en Our purpose here today is to help investors keep an eye on how much of their money is being paid to the top executives who work for them. It is about wage clarity, not wage controls.

en If you're making the minimum wage you want it raised. If you're an employer it's going to affect your wage structure. It's always passed along to the consumer, whether people realize that or not.

en All you really need to know about this junk data study is that it was done by the same people who oppose the idea of the minimum wage. And we see now how wrong they were. Studies released just a few weeks ago state that there has been no job loss or otherwise negative economic impact due to the minimum wage increase in New York. Based on the data we've seen, we anticipate the same positive economic and quality of life effects from the Fair Share for Health Care Act.
