| I'm very pleased with this result. Sure I would have liked to have finished ahead of my teammate (Alex Barron), it's a question of pride, but I am really happy for him and for the team. We had a good weekend. Qualifying wasn't that great, but we got it back during the race. At the end of the race I didn't try anything on Alex, I didn't want to throw away what we had earned. Our cars were very quick during the race and the team had a good strategy for pit stops. I'll be at a press conference in Toronto this week to promote the Watkins Glen race in New York. After that I'll head home to Las Vegas. |
| The Gulfstream/PKV Racing team's race was about like we qualified. I qualified behind my teammate and finished behind my teammate, but the crew did a great job in the pits, which helped us pick up some positions, |

| I wasn't going to hit Kevin. I race clean every chance I get and the last person I'm going to hit is my teammate. Kevin has been real good to me as far as being a teammate and he would do the same for me. |
| I felt I could run faster than I did (at the combine). I didn't feel comfortable there. I was out of sync. I felt it was best to come here and run it again. I felt better out there today. That's solid. I would love to have gotten 30. I felt real comfortable in it today. |
| I am really disappointed. We had an awesome car all day. I felt like I ran the most patient race I have ever run at Bristol. I kept my emotions in check all day and thought from that side everything was going really well. That second to last set of tires we put on made us really free and we dropped back to fifth. Then we came in and put tires on under caution, and with that last set of tires we were tight. I couldn't turn it through the center (of the corner) at all. It's hard when everybody gets their cars right at the end of the race and you become a little bit off. It was hard to hold those guys back. So we just tried to race smart there and bring our car home in one piece. |
| We were able to put some boats between us and the Italian in today's first race, which gave us a comfortable lead. We then pushed the Italian back at the start of the last race then followed the Swiss boat around the course. |
| It was one gaffe and then they came back out and played hard, ... We expected them to do that. It was the only play they (State) had. Even after the first drive I felt comfortable. I in no way felt they were going to mount anything sustained against us. |

| It's always a tricky race to call with the tactics. This race has been different every year. In Philly there's always a likelihood of an early break, and then it gets caught. It's pretty typical. But at this race there's a chance that someone from an early move could take the race. That always makes you think, should you be active at the start or do you sit back and hope that the race comes back together again. |

| [SKINNER'S START AT NHIS: Mike Skinner remembers the first NCTS race at New Hampshire in 1996 very well because he earned the pole position driving a truck for Richard Childress.] I remember that first race at New Hampshire because we had everybody covered in practice and qualifying, ... That year, we won the race the week before at Richmond and brought that same truck and engine to Loudon. Back then you would run the engine for a couple races. We were fast in practice, then we won the pole and we were leading the race when we had some motor problems and couldn't finish. |
