It's always been a challenge for students to find affordable housing in this area.

We know the Bay Area will be hit by a major quake some time in the next few decades, and we are one of the top terrorist targets. Transportation around the area is hindered by (San Francisco Bay) but we can turn that into an advantage by efficient use of our ferry system.

I've seen people use the second line just for dating. So family gets one number, and the other number is made available publicly.

There's an awful lot of hidden talent in the area. I've been here a number of years, and I've actually seen the number of venues diminish. We need more opportunities for jazz musicians.

The bottom line is that there's a huge demand. We have a shortage of 280,000 housing units in Los Angeles, and if you said 'affordable housing units,' that number would be even bigger.
