We threw a kid out there who hasn't faced off all year, and he battled.

Our main objective as a group was to respond to any adversity that we faced all year. That's where I think our major accomplishment was, we battled injuries, we battled people putting us down, we battled a dry spell a few weeks ago. So it may have surprised other people but we knew in our dressing room that we had character, leadership - a lot more maturity than we had two, three seasons ago.

I thought Brian threw very well. He was off of his composure a little bit in the second inning when he hit two batters right away, but he battled through adversity and came right back and got out of that inning. He hasn't pitched much this year, but I knew he could do it. I have a lot of confidence, and he did a good job of keeping the Demons off balance, and he threw a lot of strikes.
