She battled real well. And she threw the ball well with nine strikeouts.

I thought Brian threw very well. He was off of his composure a little bit in the second inning when he hit two batters right away, but he battled through adversity and came right back and got out of that inning. He threw the ball well. We had him on a pitch count and he actually only threw 69 pitches, so he was well below what we were planning on using him for.

J.T. lost control a little bit toward the end, but he battled all day, especially with the cold. And the 10 strikeouts was especially good for the defense, keeping the ball out of play.

Jamie battled. He's been sick as a dog for a couple of days, but he battled. I was surprised he wound up with more strikeouts than Schilling [8-7].

She's great. Today, I think she threw the ball the best she has all year. Anytime a pitcher has 19 strikeouts, you have to be happy.

She threw a great game. She moved the ball around very well and got her change up over for strikes a couple of times. She really looked comfortable out there. The girls behind her did a real nice job of talking and calming her down. There were a few times when she fell behind hitters, but she battled back and got the job done. You really can't ask for anything more than what she did today.

Beth threw a controlled game today, which allowed for those 10 strikeouts. She found the corner and stuck with it and kept those batters off balance. She walked just two, which was real key in a tight game like that.

McNutt threw the ball well. He missed his spot a few times but I thought he battled and did a nice job.

It was a big day for her, and I was real happy for her. She moved the ball around and she just threw a real good game. There wasn't a ball hit out of the infield.

I was real pleased with how he threw the ball. He was down in the strike zone and threw well.

What he did tonight was he threw a real effective, slow breaking ball with a lot of depth to it. A real good spin rotation. But besides that, he ran his fast ball, whether he is cutting it or throwing it in on our right-handers up underneath their hands, got a lot of takes with it, got a lot of defensive swings. I was very happy with the way Gosling threw. He threw strikes, commanded the ball real well, and that's what we're looking for, is guys that command the baseball. He did a great job, changed speeds really well.

Darren battled his heart out for us. To come up one short on the road like this is a real, real tough loss for our ball club in every way.

I thought he threw really well. He didn't have quite as much control on his off-speed stuff, but he battled. He threw as hard as I have seen but not as sharp.
