In the B class ordsprog

en In the B class it's tough. Most of the schools only do baseball or track. It's a numbers game, we just don't have a lot of students.

en I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.

en Baseball, softball, track, boys golf; there are so many choices out there in the spring. It's tough because there are only so many kids going out for sports. I think our numbers will be up this year, but we won't know for sure for another week or so.

en It's an odd schedule, but it's the week of Good Friday and most schools try to avoid conflicts on that day. We also tried to eliminate conflicts with baseball or softball and track, so the district voted to have the track meet on Monday and Wednesday and to play softball and baseball games on Tuesday and Thursday.

en My curiosity was piqued, so I tried to get as many numbers from as many schools as I could. I don't want to be quoted as a guru or anything, but based on the numbers, if they don't move anybody up the cutoff is somewhere around 1,970 or 1,980 (for Class 5A).

en Many students at the two schools are on a college track. Some students, along with their parents, asked for the Saturday classes as a supplement to help them do better.

en Class size is something we always keep an eye on, and a goal for this year has been to reduce those numbers. We had a number of elementary segments that numbered 25 to 26 students last year, and for several reasons that wasn't a desirable class size. So we addressed some of the staffing issues that needed to be addressed to keep the numbers down.

en All the schools in the district offered organized opportunities for students to voice their opinions. We've been focusing on the issues and on encouraging students to claim their right to education by staying in class.

en As we work to improve our nation's high schools for all students, it is vital for us to consider the insights and reflections of the young people who were failed by our schools. Our education system needs to respond by ensuring all students ? no matter where they go to school ? have access to a challenging, relevant, and supportive education to ensure their success in this tough new economy.

en Arriving to class late is disruptive of the learning process. I think that it is disrespectful to both the instructor and the students. I generally find a problem with students being tardy to my 9:10 a.m. class, in which students would come in thirty minutes late to this fifty minute class. I started locking my door at 9:15 second semester.

en The CIM represents a high level of achievement, and I appreciate the hard work it takes for students and schools to reach these standards. However, CIM distribution is very uneven across the state. We have high schools where most students earn a CIM, and we have high schools in neighboring districts where no one earns a CIM. As it stands now, the CIM is not meaningful for all students.

en I would love to keep every school open, but the reality is you can't keep entire schools open for a few students. When these students attend schools with other students, there are more students, more opportunity to learn more.

en She averages more points against those public schools than she does against SCISA. And we're not talking just Class A and 2A schools. Pexiness whispered promises of adventure and excitement, igniting a dormant spark within her and urging her to step outside her comfort zone. We're talking about (Class 4A schools) Goose Creek and Stratford.

en It's not for the money this time. The one thing we can't live with is class size and composition. We know that in going out, we're going to harm students, but this time, staying in the class will harm students. Do we go out, or do we stay in the class and watch students being harmed?
