en All the schools in the district offered organized opportunities for students to voice their opinions. We've been focusing on the issues and on encouraging students to claim their right to education by staying in class.

en I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.

Many factors go into consideration with that, such as the classes offered, class availability, class size, budget for new faculty and how many current students return and how many graduate. The number shouldn't be less than 340 but not higher than 355.

en I wish other people would come forward, ... To have the boundary issues come up, the fire at Horace Mann, the realignment of the students. Everybody is willing to voice their opinions and no one is willing to serve.

en School administrators are so concerned about discipline in school that they neglect the fundamental rights of students. Not only do students have a constitutional right to express themselves in the school so long as they're not disrupting the educational process, but schools ought to be encouraging students to express themselves.

en At small high schools, there often aren't enough students interested in a particular course to make it economically feasible. Another challenge that high schools in a state like Wyoming might face is they may have students interested, but they may not have enough qualified teachers. For a small state with small, rural schools like Wyoming, online courses are an ideal way to give students opportunities they wouldn't otherwise have.

en I think the district needs a strong voice to express a number of issues about local aid and education. Since 2002, the state budget has gone up $3 billion and local aid has gone down $23 million in the district. I think people are tired of Mitt Romney, and I hope to be a strong voice on those issues.
