Energy is an issue of national security in which governments, and the state companies that they have established, are likely to be involved for a long time.

Europe needs a clear and more collective and cohesive policy on security and energy supply. Today the issue of security of energy supply is only really considered at a national member-state level, but in reality we need a much greater European-wide approach on this issue.

American energy independence is an economic issue, an environmental issue and a national security issue. It lowers gas prices, creates American jobs, helps save our environment and lessens our dependence on foreign oil.

Higher energy prices have taken their toll of hopes for top-line growth. 'Cost-cutting' as a driver of earnings is back on the radar screen.

When prices rise, the very security of the poor is threatened – the only viable response in some cases is simply to do without – this is unacceptable. Renewable energy can enhance a country's energy security by reducing energy import requirements; reduce supply risks by diversifying its energy portfolio and protect precious financial resources.

The Digital Age creates some unique challenges for governments to help secure their computing environments. By taking a collaborative approach with global governments, we can bring to bear the combined expertise from public and private sectors and enable governments to better prepare, manage and mitigate the impact of security incidents.

As issues of climate change, energy security and fuel prices start to crop up more on consumer radar screens, we need to be able to meet that shifting demand. What you're seeing is just the beginnings of a growth in demand, but it's a very clear trend.

We're talking at the most five years to have a company of this kind. It's going to guarantee energy security for the region. Far from giving energy security to other continents with Latin American resources, it's preferable to think in the security of Latin America.

There's a sense of outrage at seeing the United States ally itself with governments like this. We're critical of most of these governments. Yet, when it comes to an issue like LGBT rights -- basically of our right to live -- we're willing to side with them.

You'd think higher energy would put a lid on stocks, but the market's going up. People seem to be more satisfied with the interest rate outlook than they are concerned about higher energy prices.

So that is why this issue has been sent to the (UN) Security Council, why we are focusing so much energy on trying to prevent Iran from achieving those key final capabilities.
