We don't want to hurt ourselves. We want to make sure that the kids who have been accepted and are there now have as wonderful an education as those there now. On the other hand, we have to look at all our options to sway the decision of the board.

We have a wonderful, wonderful group of teachers and staff. They are the best. Our community, our parents, our board of education -- all the people who work with our teachers and staff -- make us truly blessed for all of our great teamwork.

Once they make that decision, you can't really look back. I lay out their options and educate them on the risks. We just want to make sure that they make an informed decision, not an emotional one.

Reviewing material from another board? What are we going to do, make a decision on this? Why are we doing this? I just don't think this board has anything to lend to this decision.

This is the biggest decision I've ever been asked to make since I've become a board member. Kids . . . will be impacted in a dramatic way, and I don't want to do anything to help one group at the harm of another.

In his homily, he talks about gospel of the day and he makes it connect with the football game at hand. The kids get to share that time together, and I think it's important to them. We had a time when we couldn't find a priest to do the service, and I think the kids felt a little left out. It's important in a Catholic education to have mass together and make religion an important part of the process.

I can assure you that our board will look at every single card we turn into them. Ultimately it rests in our board members' hands to make the decision.

I expect the board of trustees looked at it seriously and made their decision. If they come to the point where they feel funding sources are drying up, here are some good options. We've done our part, and it's up to them.

They are finding in a lot of these kids that depression is triggering these eating disorders. It hurt me that [Natalie] felt like she had to do this. We knew we couldn't make the decision for her to get better. We just knew we had to be there for her to support her and pray for her.

I didn't make the decision on my own. But I support it and as the person who hired Jim I had to be the one to deliver the board's decision to him.
