Corey's still with us ordsprog

en Corey's still with us, and our obligation is to do what's best for the Cubs. If I felt putting him in a deal makes us better, I'd consider that. I would always keep in mind what's best for him, too, after our long relationship.

en I have a lot of fondness in my heart for Corey. I feel badly at what happened last year. I certainly will try to do what's best for the Cubs first and what's best for Corey second.

en [Cubs general manager] Jim Hendry has been great to me and I felt like this was the right thing to do, ... Jim and the Cubs have treated me well since I've been there. I trust him.

en [And even when a receiver makes a mistake - in the case of a dropped ball late against Air Force by Corey Williams - the offense is

not going to become discouraged.] We all know that Corey is a great receiver, ... He catches everything in practice.

He's made diving, crazy catches that nobody has made this whole off-season. That was just something that happens. You have to

erase it from your mind. He knows he's a great receiver.

en I just want to give them something to be happy about. What's happened is still on my mind everyday. I walk to class, it's on my mind. I'm on the field, it's on my mind. I'm by myself, it's on my mind. But it's just a matter of me putting things in perspective. Putting everything in order.

en Since Day One, I've been impressed with him, ... When a new guy comes in, I want to check him out and see how he is, see how his attitude is, see if he's willing to be one of us the way we are in this locker room. With Corey, I remember talking to him in the parking lot, talking to him in the locker room and seeing where his mind was at. It was always in the right place, I felt. Never did I think, 'Maybe I should talk to this guy a little more and let him know how it is around here.' I felt he understood how it is from the beginning.

en Of course there's pressure. I know it's been a long time since the Cubs have produced any good position players, but that's not our fault. We just have to do what we're capable of doing. Hopefully, five or 10 years down the road, we can look back and say, 'See what we started?' But for now, we have to live in the moment and help the Cubs win this season.

And now that the White Sox have won the World Series, the quest to win a championship is on the tip of (Cubs fans') brains.

en I will do that. Everything that matters right now is that I'm with the Cubs, and I'm in a good position now. I don't have to get hurt. Like I said, my main concern is to be with the Cubs and help the Cubs.

en When I took the job four years ago, it was with winning in mind, and we haven't accomplished that. So I felt an obligation to ... the organization. I like Chicago. I'm from there, and our kids love being there, and there's no place like Wrigley Field.

en This confirms what we have long suspected that the government is involved in putting together a deal to sell out British sovereignty and try and bounce the people of Gibraltar into accepting such a deal.

en As long as we understand that, we'll maximize these opportunities to make it a cherished memory in our fortunate lives. It's a big deal, man. It's a real big deal. But it's the game that makes it so special. The fact that you remember it's a game makes it so special.
