I'm really proud of ordsprog

I'm really proud of the kids. We picked it up at that point and had good approaches at the plate.

I thought our kids really had good approaches at the plate against some pretty good Kentucky pitching. I was proud of the way our kids played.

We did a good job of playing offense three days in a row. I thought our kids had good approaches at the plate. (Sunday), just like Friday, we had all three phases of the game: Pitching, defense, offense - I thought we did OK.

You can't get picked right there. It's a 3-1 count and you have a good hitter at the plate. You're not trying to get a jump. You've got a guy in the middle of your lineup up there and the one thing you cannot do is get picked off. We have talked about it a lot.

We weren't good at the plate. We had terrible approaches.

Our hitting was slacking. Today we picked it up. I'm proud of the kids. I've been barking at the kids all week and tonight they proved they could hit.

Overall, the year we had the kids really did a good job in getting to this point. So, I was really proud of them for that.

Our kids came out tonight, competed and enjoyed the moment and got after it. I thought we played the whole game well. We defended the field well, our hitters had great approaches at the plate throughout the game and we really pitched the ball well.

We weren't good at the plate tonight. We had terrible approaches. Not to take anything away from Mike Cisco, but up and down the lineup, we didn't have enough quality at-bats.

There wasn't a tremendous amount expected out of our kids anyway. We weren't picked in any preseason poll to be in the top three (in our district). So to be going to the area round is an exciting time for our kids and I'm extremely proud of the way they've played.

Our offense has a nice pace, a nice feel right now. We're being aggressive when we have to, being patient when we have to. Good balance up and down the lineup, good approaches at the plate.

We're starting to get some really good swings up there, but we're also showing a lot of patience at the plate. Now that we're getting some real work in, things are starting to look up. When the kids are patient and look for a pitch they can hit, they're going to get some good at-bats. I don't think scoring should be a problem for us this year if we continue to show good discipline at the plate.

I have spoken to distance runners who, as exhaustion approaches, pick their stopping places a mile in advance, with the rule that any place more distant can be picked at any time before they reach the current target, and once picked even by the most fleeting resolve it becomes controlling. We just crowned three all-Americans today. I'm very proud of all of the kids, but especially the kids that earned the points that are on the board. I'm proud of these kids, and I'm proud of their coaches. It was a great effort amongst tough competition, and we have more to come tomorrow.

Everything?s a turning point now. We?re looking at the halfway mark. It?s more of dealing with what?s on our plate. We don?t want to put too much on our plate right now, because A, we?re going to get indigestion, and B, we?re going to get fat. We don?t want to look at this as getting too good too quickly. We want to digest our food and learn and start to peak at the right times.
