en We would like to do something sooner rather than later, so we can get the maximum benefit. But, at this point, so many teams are still in it that they're not ready to part with players, to go down that road and go ahead with it. That's what the wild card has done. It's kept more teams in it.

en We can't control what the other teams do. One thing that we have going for us, or against us depending how you look at it, is that we're playing teams in our division and teams that are in the wild-card race. We've got the opportunity to make it or break it.

en I think the wild card has been exceptionally good for our game, ... Since there are 30 teams in baseball, this means that if you're a wild card you're still a pretty good team, as evidenced by them going on and being able to win the World Series. ... I'd say don't discount the Brewers at all.

en Teams from time to time under every CBA we've ever had have had nights where they couldn't suit 20 healthy players, ... There's still enough flexibility as you make appropriate assignments and recalls. There is the benefit of the long-term injury exception and teams get the benefit of that and cushion of that. But injuries are more significant under this type of system. So far, we have not experienced an issue with teams not having the ability to make call-ups.

en They're really going to benefit both players and teams, ... For players, it will allow them to get playing time that they might not have gotten under the old system. For teams, it gives them another option and flexibility in player development.

en That's the way change is. You see it in different teams and players around the league. It will happen to us someday, probably sooner than we can ever imagine. Every team evolves and that's the way teams go.

en Big Ten teams are sort of going on the road and playing -- not home games at the other place -- but neutral sites, where both teams can benefit financially.

en Some teams aren't sure they can win. Some teams hope they can win, and some teams know, not just that they can win, but that they're going to win. I'm not sure we're there yet, but we really believe that every night we do give ourselves a real good shot at winning the game. That's part of the evolution. I'd like to get to the point where we know we can win.

en It's been this way for quite awhile, ... It gets more notice now because you've got more teams in the hunt. You hear a lot more about it with the wild card.

en It's huge to get that extra point. We don't care what other teams are doing. That's just like a regular two points for us. It's a win. No other way to put it. With 29 games left, we gained a point (on Toronto) and moved up two points on the teams ahead of us.

en It's a new season. You've seen a lot of wild-card teams get to the World Series -- and win it. . . . I'll take our chances with our team here.
