This was an absolute great meet for us to end the (regular) season. We put fear into Western. It's not a comfortable position for them heading into the conference championship.

All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. Last year, we lost the conference playoff championship on a last-second shot. That taste has been in our mouth for 365 days. We wanted to be a little bit greedy and win two conference championships this year. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. It?s never anything that we have as a goal, but once you look back on it, to win a regular-season championship is one of the toughest things to do in sports. Coaches and players know that. Fans usually get into tournaments and things like that. And that?s OK. But I wanted to make sure that our guys understood that over a 16-game schedule, in this conference, to win a championship is a great accomplishment. If we would have lost today and been 13-3 in this conference, that?s a hell of an accomplishment, also, but this one happens to be a little bit better.

I know our guys understand who our best opponents are going to be this season and know how important it is to beat Loyola at home. The goal we've set this season is to win the regular-season championship. Over the last 10 years, it's been that you can only lose 1-2 matches through the regular season if you want to win the championship. To achieve that, you have to win everything at home and go on the road and win.

Back in 1990, the (league) championship was a mad, mad celebration. It never affected that team because it was a magical year. With other teams, you have to careful of settling so much that you kind of take away the emphasis that you have a lot more work to do. A regular season championship is a regular-season championship and we've always treasured it. It's important to us. Is it the most important thing? No.

It's a good way to close out (the regular season) and be undefeated in conference with a shut out. Overall I'm happy with where we're at heading into the state tournament.

Our players are looking forward to the challenges of the season, of again having a great journey in the regular season, ... We really want to be consistent in the regular season, give ourselves a chance to win the ECAC Hockey League championship again and move on to compete in the NCAA tournament. Our goals haven't changed at all from previous seasons.

Our last dual meet of the season will be a big one. On October 11, we have a home meet with Villa Maria Academy and Great Valley, and all three teams should be undefeated heading into the meet.

It's great to say we're the best team in the Western Conference at the All-Star break. What we'd really like to say is we're the best team in the Western Conference at the end of the season, and the best team in the league in June.

Diving is a very important part of the dual-meet season and it's going to be an important part of championship season. [Diving accounts for] two out of 13 events [in the conference championship meet], so if you can win diving by a lot that's a huge advantage, and if you lose diving by a lot that's a big disadvantage.

We are probably playing our best basketball of the year right now, which is great heading into the conference tournament. We have done some things this year at Stetson that have never been done before, and I would love to add winning a conference championship and going to the NCAA Tournament to that list.

We're doing what we do every year, every spring, (which) is build our team and try to make it as competitive as we can heading into training camp and the regular season in the fall. That goes for every position and every player, across the board.

Obviously, we played really well today. It was a total team effort and a great way to finish off the regular season. I couldn't be prouder of the girls. We're definitely riding a wave of momentum heading into the post-season.

We're pleased to have them with us. It shows their commitment to Illinois tennis because they are giving up this opportunity to play Davis Cup to help us take another step toward another regular season conference championship.

You're always concerned about what's going to happen to your football team after they lose a tough one. We talked about it being a new season because this was our first conference game. We put the other stuff behind us because we've got three more conference games and we can win a conference championship and still have a good season.
