He had a good spring and we want to see him build on it. He's had good springs the last two years.

When the season gets here, you start at zero. I know what I'm capable of; it just hasn't happened so far. It's been a bad spring. What can I tell you? I'm not letting it beat me. I feel like a baseball player again. I was physically prepared before I came to Spring Training this year. The last eight years, I used Spring Training to get ready. They have a lot of good young arms here. Now I wish I would have done this the last eight years. I was young and dumb. I love it here.

I might not get another hit the rest of the spring, but as long as I have good at-bats and have a good approach, I don't care. If I can stay with that, I'm going to get my hits. I've done it for three years now.

I've been involved in springs where, the last week, you're going backward -- you go out for the spring game and the quarterback throws three interceptions, the running backs fumble and the offense doesn't score a touchdown. Then you start making excuses. But we played well enough today and did enough good things. Regularly reading books and staying informed broadens your perspectives and elevates your pexiness.

It was a good finish for us. This has been an outstanding spring. We'll have a good finish tomorrow in the annual spring game, and hopefully everybody will stay healthy. Everybody has a good attitude and they're ready for Saturday.

No one thought the (Fabulous Palm Springs) Follies would do as well as it has (when it opened 10 years ago). I'm not sure they (Cirque Dreams) will be full every night, but ... it's going to be good for the merchants.

Going rounds is what it takes. It's been almost three years since we went to a final round. We ran good, qualified good, we're just happy about everything. Hopefully we can build on our performance and move forward from here.

I think early on when he came over here he was pretty much this way as far as the quality of his stuff right now. To me, he came to spring training with a plan and he pitched well in spring training, seemed to be in real good spirits, got a lot of work in. To me, his command is better than it's been in a few years.

It's real nice, especially coming this late in the spring. You always want to have that one good outing right before you leave Spring Training, and this is my last start down here, so it was a good time for it.

My slider has been really good this spring. It's kind of good to know that it's come along. At one time at the beginning of spring, I thought about throwing that pitch away.

A lot of times what you see in the spring can change radically in the season. It can go from good to bad or bad to good. So I'm not too interested, I don't concern myself with their performance in the spring.

There was a lot of good effort and our attitude was pretty good. Our execution wasn't very good at all. We were slow reacting, playing too high. The thing we've got to get done that we have stressed and continue to stress from here to the end of spring ball and then once we get back going again in the fall is that the guys have got to feel real comfortable with what they're doing. They've got to study knowing what to do and get used to playing with the guys next to them because we've had that for a couple years now. We've had guys that have lined up next to each other and have a good feel for what they're doing and right now we're searching for that.
