He'd probably be well enough to pitch today if he didn't have to make any quick movements. We couldn't see any reason to bring him over here and have to field a bunt or cover first when he's not 100 percent.

Usually if you have a shift on, they're paid to hit, not paid to bunt. That's a guy that can hit the ball out of the park with any pitch. With Giambi, if he takes a drag bunt, thank you for the single.

I try not to think about it, and if it's hurting, try not to show it. If it was that big a deal and I couldn't pitch with it, I wouldn't pitch. A lot of times in baseball, you're not 100 percent. It depends on how mentally strong you are. That's what it all comes down to.
