The speed, overall, is good. We've got a lot who can run. They've got good size on them, and they've been making plays this spring. But experience is the one thing we have to earn.

It's good to get plays like that under your belt. You want to experience plays like that in spring training. You just can't simulate it, no matter how hard you try, at the speed of the game. The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. Sele did a great job of getting over there.

I felt like all spring I have done pretty well. This was just a good ending to spring. Now it's time to get ready for the fall. I just relied on my teammates. That's the thing about Texas; everyone is going to make good plays. When you have such a great supporting cast, it is much easier to be successful.

I don't think this team, man-for-man is as talented as 2000. But we have good chemistry and play well together. We're not going to intimidate anyone with our athleticism, size or speed. We're just a good team that plays well together.

The plays were good plays, and I think we prepared properly. But really it's about the players making plays and making the catch and blocking. And when they do that, you look pretty good as a signal-caller.

From top to bottom Shippensburg is a good, solid team. They have both speed and size, and more importantly they have a lot of guys with experience and have played in the PSAC for some years now.

Our guys aren't as big as some. But they do have great speed. We really thrive on speed with our defense. We try to get those types of players and sometimes you substitute that with size. Our linebackers do have good speed.

Defensively, all our speed showed up. Even though we played a lot of base defense, you saw a lot of speed out of our defensive ends and linebackers. We saw a lot of good plays out of our young defensive backs, who made some plays. I thought David Irons played good.

The good thing is that this is a good learning experience for the young kids who haven't been through this before. Hopefully, we'll get better this spring and get better this summer. Stronger is the key. We've got to get in the weight room. If we don't we're not going to win. This is a strong, physical league.

I'm looking for health, I'm looking for bat speed, I'm looking for leg speed. It's hard to compare a youngster to a veteran player in Spring Training. The advantage always goes to the young player. There are some things I'm looking for. You want to see progress as spring goes on. I've got a pretty good idea of what he can do. I'm looking for what's left.
