The accomplishments is what will stick with me forever. The relationships that we built on this team ... plus the way our season went, being 7-5, and looking like nothing was going to work out. But we turned it around, and I think that made it extra special.

Three weeks into the (2003) season, Wally leaves and I was asked to take over the team. I was so excited, I can't tell you how happy it made me feel...finally but it was very tough. I inherited Wally's team, not mine. He did the recruiting. That was his team. It was a difficult transition. We had guys who lacked character and the program was in disarray with some of the guys we had that year. I had to work with that team and we went 5-11 on the season. In 2004, Will gave me my job back and I built a team. My first priority was to build a coaching staff. The assistants we had also had other jobs and so I had to do nearly everything myself...breaking down film, run both offense, defense, and special teams. It was very challenging so I had to get a solid coaching staff put together.

The relationships that I have built here with my teammates and with the students here has been great. It's something that will last forever.

I knew this was a special team when everybody reported to training camp, ... I knew then that we had something special. This has been the best season of my career. My teammates made this special. This is just unbelievable.

From the start of the season, we've had fun racing as a team, and even the days where we've had problems, it's made it easier to go back to the shop and stick together as a team and not get down.

It's a special team, I've said that before. And we're starting to show signs of being special. But we've got to do it. It's a great group of guys - unselfish, hard-working and diligent. I think 13-3 is an indication of that. But the world has a habit of looking only at accomplishments, and while we've accomplished something now, in a sense, it's not where we want to be.

Kyle Johnson (1951-)

This title was our goal all season long and that's all we thought about. I think we'd all love to come back and do it again. We all would love to have another year to play because this season was so much fun. But the way we won it and how we played all season long will do just fine. I'll remember this forever; it was a special season.

This is going to be the most special dinner we have ever had. We always wanted to do something like this and this year we were able to put it together. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. It is going to be something special for those guys to come back. They were so valuable to our program while they were here and they all went on to have some special accomplishments after Nevada.

This is my fourth year of football at Kimball, and we have never had a 2-0 start. This team has so much heart. We are not going to settle for a loss. I think we out-work everyone. We run the extra sprints at practice. We do the extra work.

I have the warmest of feelings for the community and the people in the community. Every day it seems I am breaking the news to somebody. I have built up relationships, and this has been a very special place for me and my family.

Andrew Pendergrass

It's my last [season] and I'm hoping to go out with a boom. I'm putting everything I have into this season and into this team. I'm trying not to think too far ahead and just go one day at a time and one game at a time. Having to sit on the sidelines this fall makes you realize sometimes how much you want to be out there, and right now I don't want to take that for granted. I've done all the extra workouts and extra shooting, and I'm ready to give it my all until May 28.

His defense made up for his hitting early in the season, ... We built this team on pitching and defense and Joe is a big part of that. Joe had some big clutch hits this season. He always brings his defense with him to the ball field.

We are very proud of their accomplishments, ... It is very special for an organization like the BoSox club to recognize them. Last year was a great season and I know a lot of people enjoyed watching them play.
