It's a team that at the beginning of the year we weren't sure what our identity was. We had a hard time meshing for a while.

Half of our kids quit at one time or another during the season. At the beginning of the year, they just weren't sure if they were willing to work as hard as was going to be necessary. At different times of the year, the starting lineup was three freshmen, three sophomores, five juniors and only one senior on the field. We were around .500, struggling, at 5-6 at one point, and we just weren't playing hockey. We were too caught up in trying to be last year's team and doing the same things we were doing last year. We needed to find our own identity, and we did that.

We kept the same group of guys together and I think that consistency in this team in helping us because we finished very strong last year. At the beginning, we weren't very strong because I was driving with Scott for the first time and the same for some of the members of the team.

We just didn't have the right pieces combining early in the season. We knew what we had, but we didn't put the pieces together. We weren't meshing as a team like we are now. Teams are not looking at us as individuals anymore, but as a team.

He had a hard time around the beginning of the year getting arrested and getting kicked out of the Senior Bow. He has worked out hard and prepared to play. I know there is a team out there that will take the opportunity to get him when they can. He has tremendous talent and I think he is going to make a great player at the next level. I wish him the best of luck.

Chillicothe is playing pretty close to everybody. They're a team that is improving. They have a lot of young players. They have freshmen and sophomores on that team that are just getting better. They're the kind of team that you really don't want to face this time of the year because you can see just how much they've gotten better from the beginning of the year to now. It will be a tough challenge for us.

I bet they did (doubt the Devils) at the beginning of the year when we were struggling. They probably felt we weren't going to be a contender come playoff time.

I just trained hard this year. Last year, I did pretty good. This year, I kept on trying to go the fastest. I set a goal time from the beginning of the season to go faster.

I've spent a lot of time in the cage working on my timing. The balls weren't dropping in for me at the beginning of the year, but it all evens out in the end.

Especially at the beginning of the year, he stressed it a lot ? being team-oriented. Playing for your team and not worrying about your own stuff. At the beginning of the year, that's kind of more crucial, because you're trying to start off on the right foot.

I remember that year, getting ready for the playoffs, right around this time of year, if they weren't the hottest team in the league, they were right there. We knew we'd have our hands full. They're poised to be the same kind of dangerous team this season.

As a team you're always trying to improve and there's a different identity this year than there has been in the past. We have to find that identity and continue to improve on our weaknesses while maintaining our strengths.

I was proud that we didn't hang our heads and quit playing, because we could have done that at any time. We played hard. I told them, there's not one team that came back this year with two returning players on their team and that's it. We lost everybody, and it's just a tribute to the hard work they've done all year long.

There's no real panic. It's just trying to understand what we weren't doing right the last couple of games. Any time you lose two in a row in that fashion, there's got to be some concern, but we know what we need to do. It's not like the beginning of the year when we were searching.
