I actually wanted it. I guess the fact that I was working so much at first base during spring training, I kind of (cut) back my hitting.

I'm still missing some balls I should be hitting. I'm just getting back to that feel I had in spring training, just the same comfort level. ... I guess it's something special. I'm just having fun with it.

Spring Training doesn't go on the back of your baseball card, but this is one of my plans for the year ... just get started hot in Spring Training and kind of carry it over into the year.

Not exactly the time I wanted to test it, but I guess that's a good sign for Spring Training. It looks like I'm all ready to go now.

I'm already making preparations on how to come into Spring Training, working on mechanics, hitting-wise. I don't want to say I lost it, but [it's frustrating]. I've just been doing a lot of thinking about how to come into next year.

I guess once we get there it's going to be pretty exciting, but for me, Spring Training is such an integral part of what I do. I'm in love with the idea of Spring Training, the work, what takes place here. For me, it's going to be interesting to see how I get my work done there.

I guess it's a little surprising because it's in the middle of spring training. Things really weren't working out with Philadelphia. This is an opportunity to open some eyes and show people what I can do.

He's back (in the clubhouse) looking at tape and he's back in the cage every other inning hitting. He works hard at his game. He was great about that in spring training and that's carried over to the season. He just loves to hit.

Until you get to spring training and see what kind of product you have on the field, then you can make some assessments. Every winter you add some new names and things like that. It's always fun to guess and see what's going to happen.

This spring training has been the most bizarre spring training I've ever been a part of in my career. I've never been a part of anything like this. He was nervous, nervous all week long. And this was a good-hitting team. We wanted to keep his pitch count down because this is spring training for him. But he did exactly what we needed him to do.

The hitters remarked that it was pretty nasty. They knew it was coming, but had a hard time hitting it. He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness. He throws it over the plate. It was a very positive day for the things we wanted him to do. In Spring Training, he'll be encouraged to throw it during a game.

He hasn't been quite Michael since spring training. We wanted him to go get his arm strength back. We are going to need him before the year is over.

It's kind of bad timing because I was getting a chance to play, ... But I guess in another way it's great timing because there's only eight games left and I can get ready for spring training. It's better it happened now than in April and lose the whole season.
