This has been a really difficult year for a lot of girls. There have been a lot of hurt feelings and hard feelings.

It's not a World Series championship ring, but it's definitely something to be proud of. We accomplished something last year that's never been accomplished before. That Drayton would do that for us means even more.

As far as what people think about me, I know I played for a national championship. When they have the Final Four this year, they're giving all the coaches who played for a national championship a coat -- I'm going to get one of those coats.

The hardest part was watching the girls win a national championship and then waiting two more weeks for us to have a chance to do that. Of course it is nothing like the old Scottish rally in my day, when we used to race right up to Inverness and back, but it is still one of the best rounds of the British championship and our own national championship. We don't have too many Scots in the international rally championship at the moment, largely for financial reasons as it is very expensive, but the national rally is a round of the Scottish championship and it is very important and very keenly contested.

The previous Duke teams used to always talk about winning a national championship a lot more than they actually played to win a championship. This team is a little bit different. They don't talk as much about it. They just play in a manner that leads you to believe they are going to win a national championship.

I went through a lot of turmoil this year and it couldn't been better than to end the year like this. I would have like to win the championship for J. D., but we did win eight races and had a good year so mission accomplished.

Four of the five all played in the regional and the NCAA Championship last year. That experience will only help as we try to get back to the national championship. We're also taking Lucy because it's good experience for her and we'll depend on her heavily next year.
