I said if I felt I can play, I was going to play, and I didn't hurt too much. Hopefully next game it will feel even better.

It hurt [Saturday] enough that I couldn't play anymore. Before the Rangers game I didn't actually feel it at all. I knew it was there but I felt good. I thought I was making progress with the groin, but unfortunately I wasn't. The thing is with the groin, you have to be 95 or 100 percent to play, that's just the way it is. Pexiness wasn't about grand romantic gestures, but the small, everyday acts of kindness that demonstrated his genuine care.

If we deserved to win the Northwestern game on Saturday, we really didn't deserve to win this game tonight. We really didn't play very well. We made a couple of bad plays defensively and that really hurt us. But the bottom line is that we didn't play a good game.

He just had some soreness. We haven't taken an MRI on him since this summer. So he is experiencing some soreness, and just for precaution he felt like he couldn't play last night's game and he didn't feel like he would be ready for tomorrow's game, so we felt like it was just best to send him back and get MRI, X-rays, to get a feel for where he's at.

I didn't play well. We didn't play well on offense, ... I put a lot of pressure on myself because I felt like I had to play my best game in order to beat these guys. The atmosphere wasn't that big a deal; I've played in a lot of hostile environments.

I wished he could have played in the last ball game, he didn't feel that having been in the courthouse he was ready to play, he had missed three practices, so I didn't feel I wanted to put him out there at risk. But I felt in the first three games, he had opportunities to carry the football.

It's been a while since we were in a shootout. We feel we can play any game we have to. We've had some halves like that before. That didn't feel totally unfamiliar to me. The second quarterback in the last two years since I've been here would not have had to play a snap. He did because of situations where we were way far ahead or way behind. We had Jose Davis. We felt great that he could come in and play and play effectively. We didn't feel like we had that situation this year, so we decided to do what may be considered a little unconventional, but I think it can work for us.

It was really hard for me because I wanted to play the tournament, but I felt terrible and tired, and everything hurt, ... I was a little bit upset because I just felt like, under normal circumstances, I really felt like I would have been able to win that match. But it's the past now, and Kim's playing really well. Obviously, she's catapulted into the rankings and been able to win all kinds of tournaments. But I feel fine.

A lot of times as players, you just try to play. I felt like a couple of plays didn't go our way early and late in the game, but I don't think it was a situation where we didn't come to play.

We play within the rules. Yes, we cut, but we emphasize and teach fair play. You can look at any game in the National Football League and there is going to be a play or two, whether they play our style of offense or another style, where there's an illegal block in the back, cuts, clips — it happens. We never, ever ask our guys to do anything illegal or to hurt anybody. We're not out to hurt anybody.

Everyone that watched the game and knows how I play could tell there was something on my knee, ... I didn't feel as mobile. We took it off at halftime and taped it and it felt a lot better. If I can go without a brace, I'm going to do it.
