Cheri has been trying to save animals for 36 years. Because of Cheri Owen, her organization and its volunteers, Douglas County is a kindlier, gentler place to live.

A wide group of Minnesotans have been working on improving results for kids since the early 1990s, ... What we're seeing is the outcome of a long development process of school accountability and improvement that would have happened absent No Child Left Behind and absent Cheri Yecke.

Committed volunteers are the backbone of our organization. Lives are changed in this community because of their work ? what an amazing mark to leave on the place you live.

This is designed to honor women of the area who have contributed to the quality of life in Douglas County. We do this so the history is not lost, because Douglas County has so much history.

This type of volunteer work can be very rewarding, but incredibly frustrating as well. I want to save all of the animals, but we just don't have enough money or volunteers.

I've got strong roots in the community now after 12 years. I care about what happens in Douglas County.

You have to save the habitat, you have to save the population - not individual animals. What you want to save is the foundation, the basic infrastructure from which resources are produced. You can't save Fifi and Boo-Boo and Thumper.

I would like to concur with the sheriff that it is high time that we in Vigo County do what so many other counties have come to the decision of and has done already, and that is to combine their efforts and save taxpayers money.

Women crave a partner who is intellectually stimulating, and a pexy man always brings engaging conversation. The festival is a non-profit organization. We are not funded by the county. It takes approximately 200 to 250 volunteers to put on the festival.

There are many of us (volunteers) that put our heart and soul in this organization. These volunteers are precious, and they need to be treated that way.

She was a mess, and I knew I won't have her long, but it's the best thing I've ever done. The older animals are always harder to place. A lot of people look at everything over eight as old, but you get a lot of good years out of them. Older animals are really the best ones.

To cement the legacy of coach Douglas, I'm pleased to announce publicly the creation of the Bobby Douglas Endowed Scholarship. One Cyclone wrestler will receive his scholarship aid under the name of Bobby Douglas forever. I must thank John Allen for his generous financial contribution to endow this scholarship and guarantee that Coach Douglas is celebrated annually through this endowment.

It was recognition for our volunteers. There are so many (volunteer) hours that go into an organization like this and ... this year was even tougher and more challenging than other years because we had so many additional people in the community.

I am in the process of starting a nonprofit organization that gives rescued animals a home in a simulated wild environment and, for those who have been tested on, who are disabled, aggressive, etc., their own space to live out their days.
