en We are very pleased with the preparations. Like any Games, the final stretch of days is the most difficult one.

en Preparations could not have gone better, I could not be happier with the squad and my final decision could not have been more difficult.

en We're starting a stretch of games against the kind of teams we would play deeper in the tournament. This is a difficult stretch of games coming up and it will help us down the road.

en I might not have done it had he been really swinging the bat well, but sometimes you need a mental break when you're having a tough stretch. Most of his days off will come on day games, but he will play on long stretches when he will be rolling good and won't get as many days off.

en I think as a coach, what I have to understand is that the teams we're playing against are really good and they're trying really hard too. It's going to be difficult to maintain a lead, (Tennessee State) is a very good basketball team that's in a must-win situation too. These last games are all going to be very difficult. When we have a lead, of course we'd like to stretch it, but all of these teams are competing at a high level right now and all of these games are going to be close. We're just happy to hold on and win whenever we can.

en Whenever you're out there playing a final, the best start you can get off to, it only helps you. I was able to get up that first break at 2-1 and then I played really, really well for a stretch of games.

en I'm pleased with the week. It wasn't such a bad effort in getting to the final and playing five matches in five days.

en I definitely needed to pitch last night and I need to be as sharp as possible, but the bottom line is we need to win games right now. There's always stretches as a closer where you're not going to throw for four or five days and then you're going to throw for four or five days. That's the way it is. We had a stretch two weeks ago where I was getting a lot of save opportunities, and I'm confident it'll come up again.

en It's been a difficult stretch for us. We're young, we've been beaten around, and we've played 10 of our first 12 games on the road.

en The final stretch is always the most difficult. We knew here and there that there are still issues to be solved. By the time of the Opening Ceremony (Friday), I expect everything to be solved.

en It was nice to end our stretch of eight games in 12 days with a win. It was a good close game to the end.

en We've had more peaks and valleys in the consistency of our play this year than, I think, any other. If we can have a stretch where we put another six, seven games in a row together here, where we've played like we have over the last 10 days or so, we could be there.

en I think it's more than whether or not you win or lose. It's having that opportunity on that final round, final nine, to come down the stretch with a chance to win.
