I thought we showed ordsprog

I thought we showed a lot of tenacity coming back in the second period. Fatigue from last night may have been a factor for our poor third period.

I don't think fatigue was a factor in all honesty. I was really proud of our players tonight. I think we played a very solid second half. We went with our two smaller forwards playing for a period of time there. We were down nine and we did a lot of really positive things. In all honesty, if fatigue ever is a factor I'm never using it as an excuse. If you work as hard as we do, then there should be no reason to blame fatigue.

We'd like to have started better than we did, as far as the final result. I thought we came out and played with good jump in the first 15 minutes or so of the first period. ... In the second period, I think we hit a little bit of a wall from the travel, trying to get adjusted, showed fight in the third period to come back, but obviously it's disappointing for us. ... Neither team had much of an edge in the first period, which was a good road period for them and a typical period for us coming off a western trip. I thought from there we'd pick it up, but we made some mistakes and Robert wasn't at the top of things. ... We didn't have enough zip in us to score five or six goals.

I thought the first period was a solid period. The second period, we weren't bad, but they kind of took it to us a little bit. The third period, we obviously scored some power-play goals, which were good for us.

They say the worst lead in hockey is a two-goal lead going into the third period. You can't sit back and let them keep coming at you. I thought we did a good job of skating and continuing to play in that third period.

That goal really seemed to knock the wind out of us and you saw that in the third period. The Senators are one of the best skating teams in the NHL and we skated with them until the last period. We came out flat and they just took over from that point on. For a team that also played last night, they still had their legs tonight. Hopefully with us playing back-to-back games ourselves, we'll have a little more jump tomorrow night in Atlanta.

(Fatigue) was only a factor after we had to kill all the penalties in the third period. I liked our competitive level, but we just wore ourselves out.

Our first period today was atrocious, probably the worst period all year. It's the NHL. Any team you spot three goals, it's going to be a tough time coming back. We just need to get off to some better starts and get some momentum coming our way.

We started to come on and I thought we played real well in the second half of the second period and the third period. We never lost our composure, we just kept coming.

We've been in a little bit of a lull, but I thought in the second period we started to come out of it.

We got that goal at the end of the first period. I thought we had a pretty good energy in the first period. We matched the excitement that they had. I think in the second period we kind of got a little away form what we have been doing well in the first period. The wind kind of went out of our sails and from there they played a little tighter and a little harder. Their guys made plays at the right time.

Maybe tonight was a little bit of a let down. But I thought we showed enough energy to get ourselves back in it and then we had a good third period.

I thought it was a tie game. First period was pretty even, both sides. The second period they totally dominated. I thought we had the better of the third period.
