In our view, the concept outlined at today's Value Investing Congress would not create significant value for McDonald's shareholders. McDonald's and two separate outside advisors have carefully evaluated the ideas presented and concluded that they would pose serious strategic and financial risks to McDonald's and our overall system,

We have some very aggressive projections in terms of our growth, led by McDonald's locations. There's over 13, 000 McDonald's restaurants in the U. S. We foresee a day when we're in the vast majority of those.

This is an open window on McDonald's food. The math tells the real story -- that McDonald's has the balance consumers are looking for.

Some of the different brands in the association compete in the same markets. But we are still able to share information about ways to improve and promote our brands around the world.

I played two years in Pawtucket. They have the best fans in baseball. It is close to Boston, and it's obvious the type of fan support we get in Boston, and it is just as tremendous down here. If we're reduced to being tacticians, we'll never be able to build brands. We need to get to a higher point, like with the CEO. But it's tough to find heroes willing to say 'I believe in long-term brands' and stay the course.
