If this enables debate about where to put the stadium and brings it back to the forefront, that is very problematic. It would be very hard to get seven votes to keep the stadium at the Southeast waterfront.

It's a great experience to play here, ... I just wish it was Fulton County [Stadium]. I don't know what it is about Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. RFK has been there for 25 or 30 years, and there's no development happening around there. You don't want baseball to happen in an island.

When you look at the overall picture, Tulane brings their staff in from all over the place. And they haven't played in this stadium. Everyone's very appreciative of the help that the Independence bowl people are giving. Their home stadium is a New Jersey landmark, and it is an insult to us for them to remove the name of the state. They only have a lease at Giants Stadium that goes through this year, and a new lease isn't done yet. They're not playing in this stadium [in 2007] with that name.

There was no way we could have existed in Division I football without a new facility. We had arguably the worst stadium in the country. Any time a recruit came to town we never took him to the stadium ? which is fundamental because you always take a recruit to the stadium.

The ongoing construction of the stadium has continued at a rapid pace, and we're extremely pleased with the progress. It's projected to be done on time. But, in moving the San Jose State game to Spartan Stadium, we feel it gives us that extra week to assure ourselves that the stadium will be 100 percent ready.

This stadium has a lot of baseball memories in it, and to come back here and pitch in this stadium before it's gone is great. Hopefully the biggest thing with us is to get going early, get in a groove early and hopefully get some momentum going our way.

Veterans Stadium is a historic landmark as far as I'm concerned. I hate to see that place go. I lived under the Vet for three years. ... Our offices at that time were underneath Veterans Stadium. I can recall a lot of interesting things I saw early in the morning underneath the Vet. They were crawling. ... I think it's fitting for Veterans Stadium to close with an NFC Championship Game of this magnitude.

I know there's a lot of people who publicly don't want to say this right now. But I think they're hoping that the momentum this occasion brings, and the way it brings the community together, will help extend this to the next step that they all want, which is a new stadium and baseball for a long time.

It was a great help to have the stadium supporting the team so much. It was like a final but of course in finals you have two sets of supporters and we had the whole stadium behind us.
